Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you. Deuteronomy 32:7
Next year marks the Sesquicentennial (150th Anniversary) of the Battle of First Manassas, also known in the North as the First Battle of Bull Run. Prince William County has budgeted $500,000 to promote tourism, expand historic programs, and sponsor a re-enactment of the Battle. The county expects approximately 70,000 visitors (many from other countries) for the re-enactment and thousands of other visitors including over 600 bus tours throughout the year.
In support of next year’s activities, the county’s Historic Preservation Division has asked Historic Faith Ministries to organize faith-based programs as part of the activities over the year. These will include worship services at the battle re-enactment and historic worship services at the county-owned Union Church in Brentsville, Virginia.
Historic Faith Ministries, which has devoted itself to living history outreach since 2002, is partnering with local churches and other ministries, such as the U.S. Christian Commission (http://usccgettysburg.org/), to raise, train, and equip a cadre of volunteers in an effort to fully realize the opportunity that this outreach presents.
Please keep this opportunity to present the Gospel and potentially bring in the harvest for the glory of Jesus Christ in prayer. If you wish to join us, please submit the volunteer form linked below.
Thank you and Peace Be with You.
