Carla, please forgive my tardiness in replying to your request. We have been in overdrive getting ready for our Mother's Day church service and tea. That is behind us now (we will be posting pics shortly) and we can get back to the things we let slide. . . like keeping up with email. Historic Faith Ministries is a not for profit organization dedicated to the return of religion as a force to be considered when speaking of historic events. The textbooks do not address the role that faith has played on the national stage, and it's omission deprives our children of the full story of America. We try to educate through authentic chruch services, lectures, partnering with the county as is appropriate, etc. For example, on May 22nd we will have as a speaker Bud Robertson, author of the massive tome, Stonewall Jackson. Bud writes at length about the devout, passionate nature of Jackson's faith and how it impacted him, and the Civil War through him. Stories such as this need to be a part of our national discussion as to where we are going as nation. To know where you should be headed, it's good to have an idea of where you've been. I hope this answers your question fully. If you have a topic I didn't cover, please post again.

I am so sorry to hear of the burning of this chapel. Hate is still with us full bloom, it is likely.

I was a conscientious objector during the Viet Nam conflict, serving at University
Hospitals of Cleveland for two years in lieu of active duty.

If I had it to do over again, I would go in as an active military person in a non-combatant role.

President Lincoln put it well. He noted each side implored the mighty God to
bless them in this terrible conflict. Chaplains of both sides undoubtedly ministered to the needs of psychologically distraught, wounded, and dying men in blue and gray.

When will we learn (except possibly as a necessity for dealing with cohorts of psychiatric cases of monsters like Stalin and Hitler) war destroys body, soul, and spirit?

Arson is a long time favorite of warlike activities.

What a sad day for a national historic building to be burned down. I pray the cause and people responsible will be brought to justice. If this was a Muslim building the president himself would be on top of it but since it was a Christian building it will probably end up in the cold case files.
